Habit 6 - Synergise

 Faster alone, further together.

At Giles Junior School, we teach children that synergising means working together and valuing the different strengths, ideas and experiences that everyone brings.

Children learn that collaboration involves more than sharing a task. By listening, contributing and exploring different approaches, they can create something stronger than any one person could achieve alone.

In school, this might look like:

  • Sharing ideas and building on someone else’s suggestion.

  • Recognising and valuing different strengths.

  • Agreeing roles so everyone can contribute.

  • Solving a problem together and trying a new approach.

  • Celebrating what the group has achieved.

We recognise that working with others can sometimes be challenging. Through clear roles, supported discussion and opportunities to practise, we help every child participate in a way that values their contribution.

At home, you can reinforce this habit by asking: “What strengths can each of us bring?” or “How could we make this idea even better together?”
